Are you passionate about yarn, cosy gatherings, and the rhythmic click of knitting needles? Look no further! Our delightful knitting group meets twice a month in the heart of Tarana. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just picked up your first set of needles, you’ll find a place here. We’re a friendly bunch—imagine a circle of comfy chairs, steaming mugs of coffee, and laughter floating through the air. Our mission? To create, connect, and craft memories stitch by stitch while supporting our local wool industry and Wraps with Love.
At our meetings, you’ll find inspiration aplenty. Share your latest project (even if it’s just a gloriously wonky scarf—no judgement!), swap tips on tricky patterns, and revel in the joy of creating something handmade. Plus, we’re not just about knitting; crochet enthusiasts, we see you too!

Tarana knitting Project & KNITTING GROUP
We have started an exciting knitting project—as a regular Market activity, we will be making blankets out of knitted or crocheted squares to donate to those who need them. We will have baskets of wool and needles on hand, so you can pick up a square and knit as much or as little as you wish!
We are asking for:

- donations of yarn (any type and any colour)
- donations of knitting needles, ideally size no 4, but we'll take anything
- donations of pre-made squares of around 14cm square (bring along to the markets or contact us)

SHEAR, SPIN KNIT - A FESTIVAL OF WOOL
August MARKETS
The vibrant world of wool comes alive at the inaugural Shear, Spin, Knit - A Festival of Wool set to take place on Sunday August 25, 2024, at the Tarana Farmers’ Market. This unique festival celebrates the rich heritage and modern innovations of wool in the Tarana region, bringing together enthusiasts, artisans, and local experts for a morning of creativity, learning, and fun.
Event Highlights:
● Shearing Demonstrations: Watch skilled shearers in action as they demonstrate traditional and modern shearing techniques.
- Spinning Workshops: Learn the art of spinning wool into yarn with hands-on demonstrations by experienced spinners.
- Knitting Circles: Join fellow knitters in communal knitting sessions, share tips, and create beautiful pieces together. Or sit at one of our tables and knit a square for the blankets we are creating.
- Wool Market: Explore a diverse range of wool products, from raw fleece to finished garments, and support local artisans.
- Expert Assistance: Gain insights from local experts on sustainable wool production, innovative uses of wool, and the future of the wool industry..
