We are the Salmon family from Oberon, NSW. We run Down to Earth Produce from our family property, Ambleside. With Tim's Bachelor of Livestock Science and a strong family tradition of nursing, together we make a team who pride ourselves on practical, sustainable and progressive farm management. Our farm is 1358 acres of beautiful soils, pasture and rolling hills 2 1/2 hours west of Sydney.
Growing 100% Australian grass-fed lamb in the most scenic and clean of environments is what we do best. Our production of high quality lamb centres around environmental sustainability and an open gate policy regarding animal health and management practices. We sell our lamb direct, with no middle man which means we pass the savings onto our customers. Honest, down to earth produce, is what we believe everyone deserves.

This entrance into Market trading followed the sale of her very popular Cafe Savanna in Oberon, where her skills and interest in cooking developed. Barbara realised that customers enjoyed the freshly made condiments which accompanied their meals. The purchasing and sale of fresh produce influenced Barbara’s decision to continue selling home made products through the very successful Farmers Markets. Barbara’s range of products include home made chutneys, relishes, jams and the ever popular fruit cakes and Christmas cakes. With Christmas in July being celebrated this month why don’t you make a trip to the Tarana Farmers Community Farmers Markets on Sunday 28th of July and purchase one of Barbara’s Christmas cakes or a jar of her fabulous jams or chutneys. You will find Barbara in the Rural Fire Shed on the left hand side. The goal at Pawsitively Awesome is to specialise in a sustainable, natural, Australian range of cat and dog treats at an affordable price.
All our products only contain natural sweeteners (such as wild berries), are naturally dehydrated, and come straight from the animal (Roo's, pigs, ducks, venison, etc) eliminating any chance of chemicals or preservatives. We do this as we are trying to promote ‘head to toe eating’ which really benefits all parties involved. This helps to assure that you know exactly what is in the product you are purchasing as well as helping us do our part in the reduction of animal waste while helping to keep four-legged family members happy and healthy. We look forward to seeing you and your pets at Tarana Community Farmers Market this Sunday! Paling Yards Olive Grove began in 1999 with the planting of 2000 olive tree's on the family property, located in the Central West Slopes and Plains of New South Wales, approximately 35 km's west of Orange. In 2004 this grew to 3000 tree's to accomodate the growth of the Paling Yards business. Ross and Trish Bragg own and mange the grove, harvesting olives for their delicious extra virgin olive oil, and also a boutique range of salad dressings and dukkah. This operation is done from Paling Yards headquarters, right next door to the grove. In addition to selling at Tarana Community Farmers Markets they also provide their olive oils, dressings and dukkah products to quality restaurants and gourmet food outlets in Orange and the surrounding region. http://www.palingyardsgrove.com.au
Ross Conifers Garden Nursery, who sell top quality local plants grown with love, have been involved with Tarana Community Farmers Markets since the first very market.
In many ways, Ross Conifers has helped put Tarana on the map. Owners Allan and Elizabeth Ross established their nursery and display gardens 7km outside Tarana in 1976, when they found the perfect spot to relocate their nursery from Sydney’s Castle Hill. The picturesque mountain setting and cool climate was just the combination they were looking for. For those with a green thumb our upcoming market will be the last opportunity to combine a trip to the Tarana markets with a visit to the popular nursery. After 52 years providing gardeners across NSW with beautiful high quality plants, the Ross’s iconic nursery will be winding back as the couple move into retirement in May 2019. Over the years Ross Conifers has gained a devoted following of people across NSW. Many drive hundreds of miles to fill their garden with the nursery’s huge variety of plants and to take advantage of Allan and Elizabeth’s extensive plant knowledge. The nursery not only stocks their famous conifers but also a large range of cool climate and deciduous trees, hardy shrubs and wind breaks. Of course, part of the experience has been the stunning drive through the picturesque Tarana Valley and a trip to the markets. Allan and Elizabeth would like to thank all those who have supported their nursery over the years and especially those who have seen our plants at the markets and come to visit. For seasoned and aspiring gardeners now is the time to get into Ross Conifers Garden Nursery to get your hands on their last ever crop of quality stock! As tea-loving twin sisters with a passion for Aussie produce, we understand the importance of an uncomplicated cuppa. So, not surprisingly, that’s the inspiration behind our four unique flavours that are carefully hand-blended in Oberon using local ingredients from just down the road and right across Australia.
Our blends cater to a variety of tea-lovers from our herbal, caffeine-free Mountain Breeze blend; the honey-infused black loose-leaf tea blends of our energising All-Aussie and soothing Yummy Honeysplash; and the cleansing, minty and sencha flavours of Alpine River. Not only do you get to enjoy the finest Australian and certified organic ingredients, you have peace of mind knowing our packing is biodegradable and/or compostable! That makes Emubob Tea a deliciously easy choice. www.emubobtea.com Ridgeline’s Galloway cattle are bred locally on our property at O'Connell, located along the Fish River just a few minutes west of Tarana, and our range of premium Galloway beef products are available each month at the Tarana Community Farmers Markets.
Ridgeline produce contains no chemicals, no hormones, no additives, no fertilisers, just sunshine, natural grass pastures, a relaxed healthy approach to life and good clean water from the Fish River bordering our farm. Our cattle are raised and finished on grass to assure the highest standard of taste, tenderness and nutrition, resulting in meat that is better for you and your family. We are particularly well known for our gluten-free Galloway premium beef sausages and mince. You can always stop by the Ridgeline stall and try a free sample of our premium beef sausages whilst you are at the Tarana Markets…. the bbq is always on! Find out more at www.ridgeline.net.au |
